How UptimeLoop works today, including its limits and the features that are not available.
How often does UptimeLoop check a target?+
Every active HTTP, HTTPS or DNS monitor is scheduled every 5 minutes. A new monitor receives its first scheduled signal within that window, unless you run a manual check.
What can I monitor?+
Public HTTP and HTTPS URLs plus common DNS record types. Private, local and reserved network destinations are blocked.
How are automatic incidents created?+
A possible target failure is checked twice, at least 10 seconds apart, with fresh DNS resolution and a new connection. A confirmed target failure can open an incident. Known monitoring-infrastructure failures leave the public service state unchanged and do not reduce uptime.
Does UptimeLoop validate SSL certificates?+
Certificate expiry is checked daily and shown separately from HTTP availability. Availability verifies that the HTTPS endpoint responds; certificate validity dates remain visible as a separate protection signal.
Does domain monitoring work for every TLD?+
No. UptimeLoop queries WHOIS and displays the expiry date only when a registry returns it in a usable format. Some registries limit, omit or obscure this information.
How long is data stored?+
Detailed check results are retained for 7 days. Hourly availability aggregates and resolved incidents are retained for 90 days. Public status pages show 30 days of component availability.
Can I publish maintenance and incidents?+
Yes. A workspace can publish selected monitors on a public status page, add manual incidents, schedule maintenance windows and post updates.
Does UptimeLoop send public email alerts?+
No public email-notification service is currently offered. Status pages update on the web; UptimeLoop does not claim email delivery is available.
Is billing available today?+
No. Online billing is not connected and no paid subscription is sold today. Workspaces are currently free during early access.
Who operates UptimeLoop?+
UptimeLoop is operated by Alexis Dufays. No broader company identity, office address or public support inbox is represented on this site.
